Parent & Child Dedication

Dear Parents,

We have been so very blessed here at Gospel Community Church to see so many families experiencing the blessing of having children, and with that blessing comes an incredible responsibility.

Deuteronomy 6:5-6 says, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”

Our desire is to equip you, encourage you, and partner with you in the incredibly important job of discipling your children in the ways of the Lord, and the first step in that partnership is encouraging you to publicly dedicate your children to the Lord. A child dedication is a public commitment made by you as parents to instruct your children in the ways of the Lord. This is accomplished through actively participating with your children in the study of God’s Word, worshiping the Lord and praying to the Lord. We hope that it is your desire to publicly express to God, and to our church body, your commitment to raise your children in the way that pleases and honors Him.

The next Parent/Child Dedication is scheduled for Sunday, March 23th. If you are interested in dedicating your child that Sunday and are committed to raising them according to God’s Word, please take a moment to complete the registration form by Wednesday, March 19th.

Once we receive your information, we will contact you with further details. Again, this is an important step for you in discipling your children and as a church we look forward to partnering with you. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Mike DuBard at mdubard@gospelchattanooga.org.
