OUR ESSENTIALS

Gospel Centered

The gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ, is at the center of everything. Creation, history, scripture and life itself are all centered around Jesus. He is the way, the truth and the life and the one through whom and for whom all things were created.
It is through Jesus that all things are redeemed and reconciled and because he is at the center of everything, we  will not allow anything else to take His place at the center of our church.
Genesis 3:15 | Exodus 12:13 | Job 19:25-27 | Isaiah 53:4-6 | Luke 24:44-47 | 2 Corinthians 4:5-6

Spirit Empowered

God the Father is on the throne, Jesus is at the right hand of the Father interceding and preparing a place for us, and the Holy Spirit lives within those who are His. So often we neglect the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives when Scripture is clear that it is the Holy Spirit, that is empowering our lives day by day. We often talk about the Holy Spirit as a force working around us, and while He does certainly work around us, the emphasis of Scripture is on his working within us. When Jesus says “I will be with you always, to the end of the age” he is referring to His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, indwelling his people.
Psalm 143:10 | Romans 8:9-10 | 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 | Ephesians 3:16

Word Saturated

We believe the word of God is our final authority and sufficient for all of life and godliness. We are empowered as the Spirit of God speaks the word of God to our minds and hearts, so we believe that it is essential for us to be a word saturated people. When something is saturated there is not one area that is not touched or affected; it is soaked through and through and when it is pressed what it contains is released.
Deuteronomy 8:3 | Psalm 119:11 | 1 Corinthians 2:9-13 | Colossians 3:16

Prayer Dependent

As we are saturated with the truth of God’s word in our minds and hearts, we grow in believing him, we grow in trusting him and we grow in our dependency on him which is expressed in our praying to Him. We walk through life by the Spirit, so it is essential that we are daily and moment by moment declaring our dependency on the Spirit through prayer.
Jeremiah 29:12-13 | Psalm 18:6 | Ephesians 6:18 | Philippians 4:6 | Jude 20

Mission Minded

God is on a mission to see this earth filled with his people, reconciled to him through his Son, living all of life for his glory. The mission of God is the mission of our church - to go and make disciples of Jesus, reaching people from every nation, tribe and tongue with the good news of Jesus Christ, so they can be reconciled to God and join the family of God, all for the glory of God.
Isaiah 42:6 | Matthew 28:19-20 | Romans 10:13-14

Love Motivated

If we aren’t motivated by the love of God, nothing else really matters because God’s love is the only thing that truly transforms us, compels us and keeps us on mission. We must be motivated to love others by knowing God’s great love for us. Knowing the love of God is the only way we are going to be able to show it to others.
Isaiah 54:10 | Jeremiah 31:3 | Galatians 5:13 | 1 Peter 4:8-11 | 1 John 4:7-8

Community Committed

God has always intended for His people to live as a united community. The body of Christ is designed in a way that there are no lone ranger Christians. We are a part of something so much bigger than ourselves. In order to be faithful we have to recognize we cannot do this on our own, it will take all of us, together, in community, empowered by the Spirit of God, living for the glory of God in order to be faithful in the eyes of God. The local church is a community of people united by faith in the gospel on mission together.
